The Numbers, The New Addition, and The Next Step

**Current Vitals:** Heart rate is a bit high at 115 bpm, and my body is feeling the weight of the "Double 11.6s."

If I’ve learned anything this week, it’s that restoration isn't a straight line. It’s a journey of navigating tough news with a heart full of hope—and sometimes, a house full of puppies!

I received my latest lab results, and they were a wake-up call. My A1c is back up to 11.6%, and my TSH (thyroid) is also at 11.627. These high numbers explain so much: the exhaustion, the weight gain (i won't tell you how much), and that stubborn brain fog my medical team warned about. My electrolytes are low (Sodium 134/Chloride 95), and my CO2 is high at 32.
And just when I thought this week couldn't get more intense, our hot water heater decided to quit mid-shower the night before last. If you’ve ever had to rinse shampoo out of your hair in ice-cold water, you know the literal shock that sends through your body!

For a *Type 1 Warrior already fighting high sugars and a racing heart, that kind of physical stress is the last thing I needed. I’ve been feeling under the weather and flu-like all day today, likely because my body is just plain tired of the fight or flight mode.

The Shield of Truth:
While those numbers are "ouch," they are also my evidence. My provider was right—maintaining my health is imperative, and high stress is detrimental. This medical reality is exactly why Colorado officially approved my virtual hearings! It is proof that when you advocate for your health, the system has to listen.

*The "Shiloh" Peace:
In the middle of these intense and frustrating health updates, God provided a beautiful distraction. Meet Shiloh, our new Boston Terrier puppy! She was born Nov 25th, and she’s already keeping our 8-month-old Goldie, Remington, on his toes. Watching Remi adjust to his new little sister is sometimes the best therapy.

I’m taking tonight to hydrate, rest, and keep my eyes on the victory: Colorado is virtual, and I am getting through this one step at a time.

Have you ever had a week where the news was tough, but the blessings were bigger? Let’s encourage each other in the comments.
