Progress, Peace, and the Unexpected Detours

It’s been a week of major shifts, small victories, and unexpected detours.

I know I recently shared about needing to step away for a bit, and I’m happy to report that after spending some necessary time at my mom's, I came back home Friday evening to actively focus on my marriage. So far, things have been going well, and I am choosing to be hopeful and committed to moving forward with grace and patience. I truly believe that the Lord guides us through every transition, no matter how difficult the path may seem.

In the midst of all the home work, I’ve been prioritizing building my community—and it is already paying off! I’m making wonderful new friends and getting to know others from my church better. It’s a beautiful reminder that when one area of life feels strained, God opens up new avenues for support and connection.

This Sunday was a wonderful example of that. We attended church and had a truly great time of worship. The Barnett Trio (plus 2) led our worship time, and a member of the church gave a wonderful message while our Pastor was away. That sense of unity and spiritual refreshment was exactly what my heart needed.

This Saturday, we took a much-needed trip to Brown County State Park. It was a beautiful day of reset and a great chance to use my new camera, The Crystal Lens! I was able to get some lovely shots of my husband and Brad, and, of course, some quiet, peaceful pictures of nature. Those moments of beauty are such a gift, and they help me hold onto perspective.

Like all of life, this week hasn't been without its bumps. I had to leave work early yesterday and spent much of the past two days not feeling quite myself, but I powered through today and finished the workday. It's frustrating when your body tells you to slow down, especially when your plate is already full!

We also had an unexpected detour with Brad, who was suspended from school on Friday and yesterday for a harassment incident involving taking another student’s things. Dealing with discipline and helping him navigate these situations has become a priority. Parenting through challenges is certainly an exercise in grace and deep prayer, and we are focused on understanding his actions and helping him make better choices.

Tomorrow is my work-from-home day, and while I enjoy the flexibility, I know I'll inevitably spend some time tackling those household chores to keep up on the cleaning—it's always a juggle!

My next big focus is this Saturday's baby shower for my sister. She is due November 19th, and I am so excited and honored to be hosting. Please keep us in your prayers as we prepare to welcome a new little blessing into the family!

Through the good moments, the difficult conversations, and the unexpected challenges, I am reminding myself that progress isn't a straight line. It's about showing up every day, seeking the Lord's will, and choosing to find the blessings woven into the details.

**Question for You:**

When your plate is overflowing, what is your favorite non-negotiable activity that helps you find a moment of peace?
