Day 2: "…having put on the breastplate of righteousness."—Ephesians 6:14

The breastplate was a heavy piece of metal that protected the heart and lungs. If a soldier took a hit to the arm, they could keep fighting; but if they took a hit to the chest, they were finished.

Tonight, as I reflect on a day of worship and friendship, I am laying the arrows of greed at the foot of the Cross. I’ve learned that a Sound Mind stays protected when it is wrapped in God’s approval, not man’s. I’m trading the noise of greed for my own integrity. I am a daughter of the King, my heart is shielded, and I am safe.

Tonight’s latte is clean and refreshing—a perfect blend for a protected heart. I’m leaning into the positive: the fact that I served my church today and got some much needed rest. I’m trading the noise of past mistakes for the light of a righteous present. I am a daughter of the King, and my heart is secure.
