Sunday Morning: Fresh Eyes and Fuller Hearts

There is something special about the stillness of a Sunday morning. It’s a day meant for rest, but it’s also a day meant for reflection. Lately, life has been a lot of deep conversations, big questions, and learning how to navigate life's seasons with grace.

Sometimes, when you find yourself in a season of processing and trying to figure out your next steps, the best thing you can do isn't to rush into a permanent decision. Instead, it’s simply to step back, take a breath, and look at things with fresh eyes. It is a beautiful reminder that God’s grace is everywhere, and sometimes a quiet change of routine is exactly what the soul needs to hear His voice clearly.

But the heart-level lessons aren’t the only fresh things in our world this weekend! If you’ve been following our journey with Remington, you know he’s been working hard on his training. Yesterday, he got the full royal treatment—a fresh bath, trimmed paws, and looking like the handsomest Golden Retriever you ever did see.

And just in time, too, because our household just grew by eight tiny paws!

Yesterday, we took a leap of faith and adopted two beautiful souls from the animal shelter. Meet Chloe, a stunning Lynx Point Siamese princess, and Bubba-T (aka Bubba) (yes, named by Brad and named after Boba tea!), a sweet gray boy.

Right now, they are bravely stepping out of their shells, exploring their new kingdom, and figuring out their boundaries with a very excited big brother Remi. It’s chaotic, it’s noisy, and it is absolutely full of life.

Wherever you find yourself today—navigating a crossroads or just trying to find peace right where you are on the couch—I hope you feel the comfort of a God who knows exactly where you are.

You don’t have to have the next five steps figured out today. You don't have to solve every puzzle by noon.

Give yourself permission to just be today. Hug your loved ones a little tighter, cuddle your pets, and open your heart to whatever fresh perspective God wants to give you this morning.

Happy Sunday, everyone! May your coffee be warm, your hearts be full, and your day be filled with peace.
