The Grace in the Pause: *Coffee of the day:* Decaf and extra water (listening to my body today)

Happy Monday, everyone. I started this week with a vision of hitting the ground running. I had my laundry done, my home reset, and a beautiful new prayer board ready to guide my steps. But as many of you fellow warriors know, sometimes the body has a different plan.

Today, I’m writing from a place of forced rest. Between a migraine and some stubborn blood sugar issues, I had to stay home from work. In the past, I might have felt guilty or frustrated by this interruption, but this year, I am learning that rest is a form of resistance.

Here is what I am leaning on today:

*The Power of Advocacy:
My medical team at IU Health recently documented that it is imperative for my health to keep my medications stable and that I would benefit from virtual meetings due to the fatigue and brain fog this journey causes. Today is a reminder of why that advocacy matters.

*The Gift of a Postponed Meeting: I was supposed to meet with my probation officer today, but the meeting was moved to January 22nd since my p.o is a bit sick and didn't want to put my health at risk. I am choosing to see those extra ten days as a gift from God—a "halftime" extension to get my health back to baseline.

*Trusting the Board:
I looked at my prayer board this morning—specifically the envelope for "Health" and the quote "Where God guides, He provides" He is providing the time I need to heal right now.

*Listening to the Symptoms:
My Tachycardia and Gastroparesis don't care about my To-Do list. They care about my stress levels. By choosing to stay home, I am choosing to lower the pressure.

To anyone else starting their week in a pause, instead of a sprint: It’s okay. You aren't falling behind; you are refueling. We are still moving toward restoration, even if today the movement is just a slow breath and a prayer.

Tell me in the comments: How are you practicing "Grace for Yourself" this Monday?
