This coming Saturday, my heart will be in a place I almost didn’t go. It's the annual "Thrive" women's event at the church where I first joined as a teenager—a powerful day dedicated to fellowship, learning, growth, eating, and connecting with a wonderful community.

Thrive is truly a chance to fill the cup, with an inspiring speakers and a beautiful mix of new connections and old friends. Last year, I enjoyed every moment of it. This year, however, I had made the tough decision to sit it out. The registration fee is small, but every penny counts right now, and I chose not to spend the money.
It was a decision I was at peace with, until a dear friend of mine reached out.

Without hesitation, she simply offered to pay my way. Her words were gentle but firm: "Consider it a blessing, and don't feel bad for accepting."

That is a lesson I needed to hear. How often does our own pride or discomfort get in the way of accepting a genuine gift? My friend wasn't just paying a fee; she was giving me permission to receive grace. She was reminding me that being blessed is just as important as being a blessing. Her generosity has transformed a quiet Saturday at home into an exciting day of spiritual nourishment and fellowship.

I am truly looking forward to going, to reconnecting with friends, and to experiencing a day of collective learning and growth. But most of all, I am looking forward to appreciating the wonderful gift of friendship—a true, tangible example of God’s provision, not only for my heart but for my calendar.

This Saturday isn't just about fellowship; it's about gratitude. It’s a beautiful reminder that when we open our hands to receive, we allow others to experience the joy of giving, and we witness grace in action.
