Day 4: The Shield of Faith ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ๐Ÿ”ฅ

"In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one."— Ephesians 6:16

The Roman shield (the *scutum*) wasn't a small circle; it was a large, rectangular wall of wood and leather. Before battle, soldiers would soak them in water so that when flaming arrows hit them, the fire was instantly extinguished.

*Extinguishing the Arrows:-- When "flaming arrows" come at you your Faith is the wet shield that puts the fire out before it can start a blaze in your heart.

*Covering the Gaps: When your body is tired your Shield of Faith covers the areas where you feel weak. It reminds you that God's strength is perfect when yours is flagging.

*The Word: HEBREWS 11:1
"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

Tonight, as I rest my eyes and finish my work, I am laying the exhaustion of the grind at the foot of the Cross. I’ve learned that a Sound Mind doesn't have to see the final victory to know it's coming. I’m trading the strain of my busy day for the knowledge of my steady faith. I am a daughter of the King, my shield is up, and no arrow can reach my peace.

*The Internal Latte: CONFIDENT
Tonight’s "latte" is a soothing, evening blend—warm and reassuring. I’m leaning into the positive: I am caught up at work, I am moving through my grading, and my shield is holding strong. I’m trading the discomfort of digital strain for the feeling of a job well done. I am a daughter of the King, and my faith is my fortress.
